In honor of Utility Scam Awareness Day, we want to share a few tips to keep customers safe from scammers:
- Never give personal information such as billing info, social security numbers, or account numbers over the phone.
- Avoid clicking links or downloading attachments from businesses or individuals you do not know.
- Never allow someone into your home without proper identification.
- NEVER wire money to somebody you do not know.
- Do not hesitate to contact law enforcement if you think you are the victim of a potential scam.
